What is the Virtual Art Gallery Tour?
This 1-hour Art Gallery Tour will take registered participants on a guided virtual tour of selected art-pieces at the Art Gallery of Ontario with the lens of health and well-being to support self-management and healthy living. This visit will journey into mindfulness and creative spaces that we hope will help connect participants with the experiences of their peers as well as artists’ creations while living with chronic conditions.

Peer Ambassadors leading the tour have been trained by the Art Gallery of Ontario and South Riverdale Community Health Centre. These individuals have experience living with or supporting others with chronic health conditions.

Why are you offering the tour virtually?
Due to COVID-19, our monthly in-person AGO tour has been cancelled until further notice. We have co-designed a virtual Mindfulness Visit to the AGO to provide participants an opportunity to engage with art from their homes.

Who can attend?
Anyone living with or giving care to someone with a chronic health condition that has registered for the program.
There will be only 5 people per group.

What technology/equipment do I need to attend this virtual tour?
You will require a stable internet access, a computer or phone that supports screen share, and access to audio either by computer speakers, or phone.
The tour will be hosted on the Zoom platform. Instructions to use the platform will be sent by email upon registration.

What does it cost to attend?
There is no fee. AGO and SRCHC have partnered to offer this program at no cost.

Who developed the program?
The Art Gallery of Ontario and the South Riverdale Community Health Centre co-designed this program and have established a partnership to offer free mindfulness gallery visits led by a trained Peer Ambassador.

As a program, we have curated an experience from a lens of chronic disease management that is grounded in reflection in which the gallery visits serves as an opportunity for people living with long term health condition to exercise mindfulness while interacting with the artwork as well as others in a fun and creative manner.

Registration is mandatory.
