What is Introduction to Mindfulness?
Introduction to Mindfulness is a 4-week group that teaches emotion regulation skills through psycho-education and mindfulness practice. Mindfulness is a skill that is useful for many aspects of our lives and teaches us to be engaged with the present moment in all that comes our way.
What happens in the workshop?
The same group of participants meet on a weekly basis for 2 hours at the same day, time, and location. In an interactive environment that is facilitated by two trained individuals, participants will learn:
- What is mindfulness
- Emotion regulation and the window of tolerance
- Mindfulness of body, thoughts and feelings
- How the brain/body processes stress and emotions
- About developing resources for self care
Who can attend?
This group based program is intended for anyone who has previously attended a self-management program.
Who leads the workshop?
The program is led by two individuals who have taken special training offered by our organization to be able to deliver our programs and services.
What does it cost to attend?
There is no cost to attend the program. Participants must pre-register for the program.
