What is the Art Marking Workshop?
This hour and a half long workshop will engage participants in art making inspired by artist work on display at the Art Gallery of Ontario. This is an ideal activity for previous participants of the Self-Management programs. Incorporating tools from the self-management program, this workshop will give participants an opportunity to make their own art. Participants will take home one of the pieces they create.
Peer Ambassadors leading the Art Making Workshop have been trained by the Art Gallery of Ontario and South Riverdale Community Health Centre. These individuals have experience living with or supporting others with chronic health conditions.
Who can attend?
This group based program is intented for anyone who has perviously attended a self-management program.
What does it cost to attend?
There is no fee. AGO and SRCHC have partnered to offer this program at no cost. Registered participants will receive the necessary art supplies and travel support.
Who developed the program?
The Art Gallery of Ontario and the South Riverdale Community Health Centre co-designed this program and have established a partnership to offer free Art Making Workshops led by a trained Peer Ambassador. Using a lens of chronic disease management, the art making is an opportunity for people living with long term health condition to exercise mindfulness while creating and learning about artwork with others in a fun and creative manner.
Registration is mandatory, 6 spots per session.
